The Importance of Nadi Pariksha - Ayurveda...

Often we think, why should we go for Ayurveda and Nadi Pariksha when we can easily get rid of any discomfort of disease by Allopathy?

Definition of the disease is, "any deviation from or interruption of the normal structure or function of any body part, organ, or system that is manifested by a characteristic set of symptoms and signs and whose etiology, pathology, and prognosis may be known or unknown." ( http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/disease, accessed on 23.02.12, 5:40pm IST)

We, as a life system, are made up of five elements, i.e. Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. The food that we eat, once it is digested, it gets mixed up in the body as various nutrients which is nothing but these five elements. The entire Universe is made up of these basic elements.

When the condition of disease or interruption begins in our system, it first enters into the space element, which is our aura. Aura is all surrounding the body, the energy field body. Then, it enters into the Air element, which is visible as disturbed breathing patterns. If we are sharp observers we won't miss this phenomenon related to breath. The third stage of interruption is into Fire element, which is associated with our mind. The mind is made up of thoughts and emotions mainly. So, we feel so much of mood swings (emotional turbulence) as well as continuous thoughts. Then it enters into the water element, where it affects our blood, urine and all those systems which is associated with water in the body. The last stage is the Earth element, which is our visibly gross body.

Allopathy can only detect any disease once it has come to the level of water element or earth element. Whereas, Ayurveda can detect it from any of these five levels. Not only can it detect which level the interruption has entered, but also it can say up to what extent it has disturbed the system there. Therefore, one must go through Nadi Pariksha once a month. Once you know what is wrong with your over all life system then you can take measures in due time. Prevention is better than cure. Allopathy can only cure a disease once it has happened, whereas Ayurveda can prevent it from happening on your gross body.

Hari no Marag che shura no, nahi Kayar nu kaam jo - the path of Divinity is for the Brave...

Ever since I was a little kid, I have heard this Gujarati Proverb - Hari no Marag Che Shurano, Nahi Kayar Nu Kam jo...translation can match somewhere near to, "The Path of Divinity is for the brave, Cowards can not walk on it." Although I understood the meaning of this sentence very well, somehow I was unable to get the gist of it, the essence of it coz it was not in my experience. Now when I look back and see, how my life has experienced this one sentence in all its essence in the last few years, I can not thank the divinity enough. When you start walking on the path of Yoga, the path of divinity, the path of Love, all of a sudden you realise, there are obstacles. You feel, arrrre... where do they come from? It was never there in my life before! I started practicing Sudarshan Kriya and Sri Sri Yoga that I had learnt and in 7 months, I got severe cold and sinus issues which I did not have before. I thought, why am I having so many obstacles which were not there so f

Starting a new series.. from the eyes of the modern day Bhagiraths...

Descending of the Ganges Bhagirath is the one who brought the holy river Ganga to the earth. It is a famous story. As per the Ramayana, to liberate his ancestors, he performed penance to bring the holy river Ganga to Bhuloka. And with the guidance of Brahma and help from Shiva, he finally did it. The Ganga is a symbol of water resource. That water, which not only quenches the thirst of all creatures but, is the basis of creation.  Looking at the present day scenario of water depletion from the ground and surface, we need some Bhagirath again. Fortunately, with the grace and guidance of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji, there is a team of Bhagiraths who are actively working to bring back the lost waters of India, reviving rivers and bringing back life on this planet.  In this series, I aim to introduce such modern day Bhagiraths (or Bhagirathis) who are tirelessly working just for the sake of water. Watch out this space for interesting stories coming up in a couple of days
